The skull of the baboon is, to us, symbolic of the wild, and the spirit of adventure. The baboon itself is not often the subject of postcards - common, overlooked, and sometimes feared. But the baboon has roamed these lands for a millenia - a  pensive, resilient sentinel of the wild. From the sun-scorched dunes of the south to the dense jungles of the north, the baboon watches, forages, and leads its troop through the barren and untamed lands. When his time ends, the troop continues, and his skull remains. A reminder to us travellers of the neighbors with whom we share this earth. 

We pay homage to the baboon, to the desert he watched over, and which his kin continue to - the windswept sands, the creatures great and small, the deep mountain passes where he quietly observes his momentary guests. Through NFTR, we honor this spirit of endurance, curiosity, and quiet respect.
